Changing of the Guards, 9 April 1940

Background pic for a little MTBB logo variation: Changing of the guard at the royal palace, Amalienborg, on 9 April 1940. During the morning, the guardsmen in ceremonial uniform had fought the German invaders. With several wounded, the contact ended only when King Christian X ordered the Guard Captain to cease fire, with the demand to the Germans that they would not enter the palace grounds - which was respected.
